Irish Peat Wine. Yes, you did read this correctly. This must be the most unique wine I have had the pleasure to introduce to our customers and a first to be launched into the market. Where to begin?
When BT Wines contacted me about their newly introduced wine I must say I was intrigued, and then surprised and delighted when I sampled this unusual wine combination
My pre-conception based on the name was “will the wine be a smoky, earthy taste”? No, the nose was mellow unoaked wine, and on tasting, my palate discovered a silky pinot noir grape with subtle warmth and a smooth well rounded finish. So, not a gimmick but a serious premium wine.
Further questions had to be asked of Trisha & Brendan of BT wines, and it transpires that their brain child idea came from the fact that with all the Irish Whiskeys available, why not a wine?
It took some years to develop this wine to achieve their expectations, but the result in my opinion has been worth the effort. Visit their web site to read more about Irish Peat Wine on www.btwines.ie
Unsurprising that Irish Peat Wine is now being served in some top restaurants by discerning sommeliers in Dublin and I have great expectations this wine will become a celebrated national treasure alongside the leading names of other famous Irish brands.
Try it for yourself or send to friends in a hamper this Christmas, it will certainly cause a bit of craic around the Christmas table!
