A pay rise is not the only way to increase productivity. Anyone running a business knows the importance of recognising the value of their employees and a pay rise is certainly appreciated, however, the thrill of a pay rise will have a motivational effect for about 6 weeks and loses its shine after tax deductions and household bills gobble up the perceived benefit. A Harvard field study in 2013 demonstrated that companies need to consider factors other than a pay rise when motivating employees. Non-monetary incentives such as recognition, respect, autonomy, can be powerful motivators of behaviours in the workplace. Indeed, the Harvard study tested the performance of a “gift […]

Greedy Goose Hampers are delighted to celebrate the outstanding success for our supplier Moran’s Mega Jams in the Dragons’s Den. The hard work and dedication to developing exceptional preserves by Claire and Kieron Moran together with their team has earned the well deserved support of Gavin Duffy.
I have always admired and enjoyed visiting well maintained kitchen gardens, and it is a delight to see the carefully husbanded vegetables and fruit growing in the walled garden on the Attyflin Estate. It seems to me restful and reassuring that the fundamentals of life are carried on when our lives seem too busy to stop and stare. The Attyflin Estate has a 500-year history of food production and the O’Connell Family recently launched an artisan range of apple juice, preserves and jams bringing a “back to basics” approach for the delectation of lovers of Irish home grown produce. Using their abundant environmentally friendly kitchen garden crop they press their apples […]

However, for those who generally find it difficult to show their feelings the ritual of St. Valentine’s Day helps overcome their shyness to show how much they care. All of us want to do something special or different for our Valentine and a Rose is a beautiful expression of love. Greedy Goose Hampers send red roses in gift trays together with a traditional selection of champagne, prosecco and chocolates. Wishing our visitors, […]

Irish Peat Wine. Yes, you did read this correctly. This must be the most unique wine I have had the pleasure to introduce to our customers and a first to be launched into the market. Where to begin? When BT Wines contacted me about their newly introduced wine I must say I was intrigued, and then surprised and delighted when I sampled this unusual wine combination My pre-conception based on the name was “will the wine be a smoky, earthy taste”? No, the nose was mellow unoaked wine, and on tasting, my palate discovered a silky pinot noir grape with subtle warmth and a smooth well rounded finish. So, not […]
